Friday May 3, 2013

The other group that was going to build a house today wasn't able to. This was due to the fact that some houses had been build on government land and so the government had put up a block that was not allowing anyone through that had any sort of building supplies. The house built on Thursday was outside of this area and the director is looking for another house to be built outside of the area so that the other students can also have the experience of building a house. Some last minute changes had to be made so students went to the community to teach, to the Luis Vernasa hospital, and to the maternity hospital.

Friday night was also our first health fair. Seven stakes were invited to come but we only had 50-60 people show up. We were a little worried about how many people we would have as started a half an hour late with only about 20 people but as we started the classes more and more people kept arriving. We rotated the members through classes of CPR, first aid, assessment, nutrition, dental hygiene  and hypertension. We also had a nursery to watch their children. Overall it was a success and a great experience.
